Model Selection in Windsurf Cascade

Windsurf's Cascade allows you to choose from a variety of AI models to power its capabilities, ensuring you have the right tool for your specific task and preferences.

Accessing the Model Picker:

1. 1. Locate Cascade Pane: In the Windsurf editor, find the Cascade pane (usually on the right-hand side).
2. 2. Click Model Name: The currently selected model (e.g., "Claude 3.5 Sonnet") will be displayed. Click on the model name.
3. 3. Model Picker Appears: A pop-up will appear, allowing you to select from available models.

Available Models:

• • SOTA Models: Access a range of models, including premium, proprietary Windsurf models, and models from common providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
• • Windsurf Proprietary Models:
  • • Windsurf offers its own models, such as the SWE-1 family. (More details in a separate video.)
• • Free Option: If you run out of credits, you can always use SWE-1-lite free of charge.

Admin Controls for Organizations:

• • Enterprise Ready: Windsurf provides admin controls for organizations.
• • Restrict Access: Admins can go to the web portal to turn specific models on or off, controlling which models their users can access.
